Fair rules for a shared service.

These terms apply when you access the CharmBot website, dashboard or Discord bot. By using CharmBot, you agree to these terms and the privacy policy. If you use CharmBot for an organization or Discord server, you confirm that you have authority to accept these terms for it.

You must be permitted to use Discord under Discord's terms and the laws that apply to you. You are responsible for your Discord account and for activity performed through it. CharmBot is an independent service and is not endorsed by or affiliated with Discord.

Only invite or configure CharmBot where you have permission. Server owners and administrators are responsible for role hierarchy, channel access, feature configuration, member notices, moderation decisions and compliance with the laws and policies that apply to their community.

CharmBot requests permissions needed for its features. You can limit permissions, but a feature may not work when required access is removed. Review settings before enabling content logging, transcription, external integrations or automated moderation.

You must not use CharmBot to:

• break the law, Discord policies or another person's rights;
• harass, exploit, impersonate or endanger people;
• distribute malware, steal credentials or probe systems without authorization;
• bypass access controls, rate limits, subscriptions or safety measures;
• send spam or deceptive notifications;
• process sensitive information that is not necessary for the selected feature.

Access may be limited or suspended when reasonably necessary to stop abuse, protect the service, comply with law or address a material violation of these terms.

You keep rights in content you submit. You grant CharmBot permission to process and deliver that content only as needed to operate the features you choose. You are responsible for having the rights and permissions needed for submitted content, feeds, files and links. Voice transcription must be used with clear member consent and may not be used for hidden or server-wide recording.

Server managers control whether Quote of the Day runs, where and when it posts, and whether its allowlisted third-party fallback is used. Members and managers must only save quotes they are permitted to share. Third-party quote text and attribution can be inaccurate or unsuitable, and administrators can disable fallback at any time.

Plural and roleplay profiles must be owned and used by the Discord member who created them. Profiles and proxy messages must remain clearly marked and may not be used to impersonate another member, moderator, organization or application, evade moderation, or deceive people about who is responsible for a message. Server managers may restrict channels and roles, inspect verified actor attribution, remove proxy messages, or block profile use to protect their server. Cross-server reuse requires the member's explicit choice and the destination server's permission.

When paid access is offered, the checkout page shows the price, billing interval and renewal terms before purchase. Billing is processed through Stripe. Subscription changes and cancellation are available through the hosted billing portal. Charges already processed are handled according to the terms shown at purchase and applicable consumer law.

CharmBot coins, experience points, achievements and other virtual items have no cash value, cannot be withdrawn and are not property or legal tender. Server managers may reset or change a server's virtual economy.

Arcade Credits are a separate free, closed-loop balance. They cannot be purchased, transferred, redeemed, cashed out, paid out, exchanged for prizes or used in the Economy shop. You must not attach money, goods, services, prizes or anything else of value to Arcade outcomes. Published return percentages are mathematical expectations across a distribution, not a guarantee of an individual result. Server limits, a fixed daily play ceiling and member self-exclusion apply.

CharmBot works with Discord, Stripe and optional content, music and notification providers. Those services have their own terms and may change or limit their APIs. CharmBot is not responsible for third-party content, availability or account actions. Do not connect a provider unless you are authorized to do so.

CharmBot is provided on an as-available basis. Maintenance, provider failures, Discord limits and security events can interrupt features. Features may be changed, limited or retired to improve safety, reliability or legal compliance. Material changes to these terms will be published with a new update date.

To the extent permitted by law, CharmBot is provided without warranties of uninterrupted operation or fitness for a particular purpose. Automated moderation, organization, accessibility and notification tools can make mistakes and require human review. CharmBot is not a substitute for professional legal, safety, financial or accessibility advice. Nothing in these terms limits rights or liability that cannot legally be limited.

You may stop using the dashboard and remove CharmBot from a server at any time. Data handling after removal is described in the data deletion instructions. Questions about these terms can be sent through an available method on the contact page.
